About us

Workinginconstruction.be is a platform developed to provide construction workers working in Belgium with easy access to important information about their social rights. The aim of this initiative is to raise awareness of the applicable social legislation in the construction industry, thereby ensuring a fair, transparent and safe workplace.

What do we do?

At Workinginconstruction.be, we aim to help construction workers learn more about their rights in the workplace by providing easy access to information. Whether it is about wages, working conditions or housing, we provide understandable information specifically targeted at the construction industry. That way, workers will have a better understanding of what they are entitled to. In addition, we support workers in submitting a report if they are concerned about their working situation.

Do you want to raise awareness and inform workers about their rights on your organisation’s construction sites? If so, use this meeting toolbox. It serves as a guide on how to do this clearly and concisely in 20 to 25 minutes.

Why this platform?

The construction industry in Belgium is a dynamic and often complex industry, with many foreign workers. Unfortunately, workers are often poorly informed about their rights or do not always know where to go for support. Workinginconstruction.be provides a reliable source of information that is both understandable and easy to access. We want to ensure that every worker is aware of their rights and knows where to turn if they have concerns.

Who are we?

Working construction is a collaboration between 24 organisations initiated by Lantis and the contracting consortia of the Oosterweel Link project. Through the platform, we aim to create a fair, transparent and safe workplace for everyone in the construction industry.

We continued the collaboration we started in 2024 through the Social Compliance Learning Network (LNSC). In this learning network, we exchange practical knowledge and experience between different organisations regarding social compliance, working conditions, social rights and workers’ accommodation.
